🤦🏻‍♂️ Another screen left in a dryer vent!!

This customer called us because it was taking her multiple cycles to dry a load of clothes! The problem was quickly identified after doing a quick inspection. The screen was left inside the exhaust vent! This resulted in ZERO air flow from her outside vent with the dryer running. This is a huge hazard and should be taken seriously. Eviction day!!

HUGE FIRE HAZARD 🔥

We got a call from a customer to come clean four dryer vents in a couple of duplexes. While we were performing our inspection we noticed that the dryer vents were WIDE OPEN in the attic! Not only is this a massive fire hazard but it can also contribute to mold growth and many other things. We informed the customer of the situation and with the help of Air King LLC we were able to get these vents routed to the exterior and up to code. Here is a video of us removing a screen from a backed up dryer vent! This style of vent must have the screen removed when used for a dryer. Not only is this a code violation, it also restricts airflow which leads to a massive buildup of hazardous lint! If your dryer is taking longer to dry clothes, it might be worth checking your vent! IT’S ON THE STICKER 🤦🏻‍♂️

We got a call from a customer last week that said her clothes were taking at least two cycles to dry. When we started our inspection it was noticed right away what the problem was. The roof cap at the outside termination still had the screen left in it! This particular roof cap can be used for many things but if it is being used for a dryer vent the screen must be taken out before installation to prevent lint buildup like you see here. This dryer vent got some much needed TLC! Not only were we able to get the hazardous lint out of his system but we were able to increase his dryer’s airflow from 984 ft/min to over 1,300 ft/min. Most dryer manufacturers recommend at least 1,200 ft/min at the outside termination with the dryer running.
