Traditionally, rag rugs were sewn together by the person getting the rug, and the balls of fabric were then sent to the weaver. We offer this service to you! See this video to see how one ball of fabric makes a beautiful rug! Full rug at end of video!

Rugs so tough they can handle your life.

Before there were smartphones, there were stories, skills, and traditions passed from one generation to the next. ❤️

Today, Grandma Donna and Grumpy Grandpa share a little about the creative people who came before them.

It’s amazing how much family history lives in the things we make with our hands. 🧵

What crafts or hobbies did your parents or grandparents enjoy? We’d love to hear your stories!

Started a new special project! This order is based off of my purple ribbon winning rug! That one I pieced together by hand piece by piece. Since then, I have created a weaving guide, and so this rug is all about trying it out while I weave for a very special friend I met at a craft fair. I cannot wait to show you all the process of this project!!

Somewhere along the way, these blue jeans went on adventures. They worked hard, made memories, and were part of someone’s everyday life.

Then their story took a new turn.

Piece by piece, stitch by stitch, they were given a second life on my loom. What was once worn and ready to be discarded became something useful, beautiful, and made to last.

That’s what I love about making rag rugs. I’m not just weaving fabric together. I’m carrying a little bit of the past into something new.

And when one of my rugs leaves my home and finds its way into yours, the story doesn’t end. ❤️

Maybe it lands beside your favorite chair, greets your family at the back door, or becomes part of the little everyday moments that make a house feel like home.

Years from now, that rug might hold memories of muddy boots, sleepy mornings, busy kitchens, and all the ordinary, wonderful moments in between.

Every rug starts with a story. The person who brings it home gets to write the next chapter.

That’s the heart of Rags to Rugs. Turning the unwanted into something meaningful, one rug at a time. 💙
