This is why you need a 'Mother of Thousands' aka Alligator plant- Kalanchoe diagremontiana.

Yes,they are prolific but you can plant the 'babies' in your flower beds in the spring and let them get tall and you'll get these beautiful blooms in the fall. Full to part sun and drought tolerant.

If you want a more mature plant that will absolutely bloom this year, I have some.

It's that time of year again..Queen's tears. Billbergia nutans. One of my favorites, although every plant that is in my care is my favorite in some way 😉💚. I look forward to this bloom when very few plants are in bloom. They bloom outside around the end of January into February, which is typically the coldest months. Impressive! They prefer shade to part shade. This one pictures is slightly early. I have bare root plants and a couple larger pots available. The bare root plants will take root and grow quickly!

Vining plant with grass like leaves. It loves something to grow on but is good in a hanging baskets too. The blooms are individual, unlike most Hoyas that have cluster blooms. When in full bloom, it's fun to see!

The beauty I get to see! Yellow dragon fruit flower. They need winter protection in south Carolina but can be grown outside most of the year. I have some red dragon fruit available for sale which are equally as pretty & tasty.
It's crazy to think that this beauty is inside a green looking stick of a cactus, waiting for the opportunity to come out and shine.
It's a metaphor for us to know that no matter the outside, you also have beauty inside that is waiting to be let out and shine!

Datura stramonium, Devils trumpet, Peanut butter plant
This is the double flowering species. The leaves smell like peanut butter and the flowers have a floral fragrance. They are annual in the Southeast, but produce seeds that germinate easily and can be planted again in the spring. I have some in pots that can be overwintered inside and planted in the ground in the spring. If you give it room to grow it will flower most of the summer and produce seed pods, which if left alone will just reseed in the space. I do keep some seeds in case we have a snow & the seeds don't make it. It grows quickly and the hummingbirds & butterflies love it!
*All parts of this plant are toxic if ingested
So if your cat eat plants indoors, I wouldn't try it.

This is the cutest thing!! I feel lucky that this lizard chose my Rhipsalis as it's place of rest! I think it's there most nights, I just don't notice it every night. It blends in well and feels safe there. It's little lizard fingers in the last photo gripping the plant..😍

Such a unique flower and yes its that color. Its blooming now if you find you want one in your care! They are pretty cold tolerant and can be left out a freeze in the south. They prefer part shade and frogs love to rest inside the leaves.
