Copied from a friend who researched RABBITS : I'd suggest a healthy cat force out there -- otherwise, AI's suggestions: "The Ultimate Solution: Physical ExclusionIf you are trying to protect a high-value vegetable garden, the NDSU Extension notes that physical fencing is the only truly foolproof defense.Use chicken wire or 1/4-inch hardware cloth with a mesh size of 1 inch or smaller.Ensure the fence stands at least 24 inches tall to stop local cottontails (or 36 inches if you have larger jackrabbits).Bury the bottom 6 inches into the ground, bending the lower edge outward at a 90-degree angle to completely stop them from digging underneath." ---- or ---- "Fargo's local cottontails can easily hop into standard 6-inch or 12-inch raised beds. To stop cottontails: Build the walls at least 24 inches high. To stop jackrabbits: Build the walls 36 inches high, as jackrabbits are much larger and are excellent jumpers."
