Q: Can we purchase tickets online?
A: No, only at the door, cash preferred.

Q: Can we picnic on the property?
A: No, picnicking is not permitted.

Q: Are there other times that we can visit the Garden?
A: No, these are the only open dates and times our private garden is open (no exceptions).

Q: Can we bring clients for photo sessions/shoots during the Open Garden Days?
A: No, we do not host photo sessions/shoots in our private garden.

Q: Can we take personal photos while visiting the Garden?
A: Yes! You make take photos for your personal enjoyment. Please be mindful of other visitors when doing so.

Q: Is there a restroom?
A: Yes.

Here on Waitsfield Common the warm spell brought on the blooms of our Magnolia stellata. The cool down will keep them going for a while. Just hoping that the temps don't do a sudden plunge.

The poison fogs and pesticides used by homeowners are a death warrant for nearly every insect in their yards.

We hope that you will join us for the last two open garden days at the von Trapp Greenhouse in Waitsfield, VT this Friday and Saturday (Sept. 2nd & 3rd) from 9 -3. Entry fees are $10 per adult, children under 18 are free.

We are collaborating with the Mad river Rotary and all proceeds will be distributed to local non-profits.

The garden is still very beautiful, with a touch of autumnal splendor in the mountain views. Tobi and Sally will be on hand to talk about the garden and answer any questions that you might have.

(PS Please leave your pets at home. They are not permitted in the garden and there is very little shade in our parking areas).

There are two more sets of open garden days for 2022 at The von Trapp Greenhouse: this Friday and Saturday(August 19th and 20th) and September 2nd and 3rd. Hours from 9:00 - 3:00. These days are fundraisers organized in collaboration with the Mad River Rotary to benefit local non-profits.

$10.00 per adult - children under 18 free.
Tickets purchased at the door with cash or with debit / credit via QR code.

Breaking up with the lawn, or reducing it's size and using electric mowers
(powered by solar panels) is a an admirable goal.
No lawn needs to look like a golf course.

Alas, although we had considered growing hanging baskets for this Mother's Day, we ultimately decided against it. We know that this is a disappointment for many of you, but we realized that we wanted to make a full transition away from retail plant sales for 2022. In the meantime we are relishing the vastly reduced work load and taking time to do other things. We hope that your gardens are flourishing!
