❄️ Heat Pump Tip During Freezing Rain ❄️

Freezing rain can cause ice to build up on your outdoor heat pump — and that can reduce heating performance.

What to know:
• It’s normal to see ice during freezing rain
• Your system should go into defrost mode automatically
• Steam or water during defrost is normal

What YOU should do:
✅ Keep the outdoor unit clear of snow, ice, and debris
✅ Make sure nothing is blocking airflow around the unit
🚫 Do NOT chip ice off with tools — this can damage the system
🚫 Do NOT turn the system off unless instructed. During freezing rain you can switch your system to emergency heat and cover the heat pump to protect from ice build up.
⚠️ ‼️PLEASE be sure to remove covering before you switch system back to regular heat. ‼️
