Chuck Franklin Glass Art

Chuck Franklin Glass Art Since retiring in 2015, I have started anew as Chuck Franklin Glass Art. I currently make pieces for galleries, do shows, and take on commissions. Call for appt.

Chuck began doing art glass work in 1974 when a friend opened a tavern and wanted some stained glass. It was shortly after making a window and a few lamps for the tavern that Chuck met Bill McCormick and did his first work at Jake's Famous
Crawfish in Portland, Oregon. Chuck continued to do various commercial and
residential commissions and soon Bill teamed with Doug Schmick and started
McCormick

and Schmick's Seafood Restaurants. They began to use more of Chucks work in their restaurants in the form of windows, skylights, light fixtures, and sconces. For 35 years the studio supplied the art glass in 86 restaurants around the country. In 2002 Chuck was featured on a segment of Oregon Art Beat, and in 2008 was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Art Glass Association of America. That same year, Wardell Publications did a book about the studio entitled " Windows of Character and Style". These days the studio focuses o

residential work, public art, and various commercial jobs.
