For those of you who are new to the page, Jake’s Garden was started 9 years ago when our now 14 year old son, Jacob, decided we should plant a bigger garden so we could give food to people who need it.
Jake wanted to make our garden bigger so that we can give food to "people who don't have any". So, the first year I bought extra plants and Matt and I helped him plant his garden, and we are now working on our 9th year of planting extra!
He is having a ball. As soon as vegetables are ready, we will be opening the garden to anyone who wants/needs vegetables. He will be setting up a stand at Nana’s shop, Hidden Treasures in Waldron, and at the Waldron Farmer’s Co-op a little later in the growing season for people to easily pick up veggies!
Someone asked him at Church one Sunday that first year, why he decided to do this.
He simply said, "God told me to, so I told my mom."
And that's how Jake's Garden of giving was started.
So, it's once again, in the growing stages!
Have a blessed day from a very blessed mom!
