Happy Friday at the Farm! The Mother’s Day Edition 😍
In the garden industry it’s easy to get completely wrapped up in the shopping frenzy this time of year! But, it’s also really sweet watching grown children bringing their moms in to pick out her flowers, or husbands trying to adhere to their wife’s wishes and follow them around while they shop. You may see us flying through retail to stock and whipping around in the gators, but we see you too!
The irises are blooming in the perennial garden (amongst a mass of weeds I haven’t tackled yet), but they always make me think of hand-me-downs, or more specifically what we inherit that lasts with us from year to year. Because all of them were gifts from other people’s gardens.
So as a daughter and a mom I start to wonder how I’ve been shaped by all these people and gifts that were passed down.
One thing that we are most grateful for this year is our staff and the hard working moms we employ. They show up early, stay late, help out on days off and still make afternoon pick-ups or dance drop offs. Stephanie and Sydni have been with us for years, and now Jeannie. We’re all different ages at different stages in our lives, but we all still have that hustle and “what’s next” attitude.
Think about the gifts…the non-tangible ones as you shop this year. Flowers are beautiful and some could possibly last for decades, but Moms are far more valuable.
Thank you ladies! We still got it!
