I’ve been working on a few different orders lately. First Frog Hollow which is going to be ready to deliver this weekend (Sunday) with fresh spring scents.
Also been working with a wonderful lady who owns a winery and wanted to reuse their bottles for candles. She cut and sanded the bottles and I filled them with four different scents. They look really cool, they will be such a vibe when burning in the green glass. They are almost ready to go.
Next up on the docket is The Gathered Home in Yakima, I’ll be getting their Spring order together, with an exclusive Mother’s Day candle! Stay tuned for that.

All of this gets done in between farming since this is my hobby. So if deliveries and orders are a little more delayed than usual that’s why. I do my best to get things out but this time of year gets busy!

I just realized that Detour Farms is almost 10 years old…not quite 10 yet. 9 to be exact, I started pouring candles in 2017 and selling them in my booth at the Country Store. I would go to a few different stores downtown if I felt brave enough to see if they wanted to sell our candles ( that’s all I had back then).
This little side hustle has taught me SO much and I still keep on learning as I go. Helping manage the farm has also helped me a lot in running this business.

I was going through old pictures and couldn’t believe the difference from where it started to now.
The second photo is some of the very first candles I ever poured and when I took that photo I was so proud of myself for how rustic and vintage it looked. ( I was super into vintage look which I why I went with mason jars to start.) 😆
Never give up if you enjoy what you do, it will come full circle.

so many choices when it comes to perfumes but when it’s all natural and non toxic it can really make a difference in how you feel.
I can’t walk around the department stores anymore without getting a headache from the fragrance. ( I use to work at macys, right next to the fragrances and I loved it) but now the few bottles of store bought perfume that I have is hard to put on without feeling icky. I still try to wear it because you know, the price of those bottles is crazy. I usually regret it and keep going back to my own stuff.
My favorite Detour Farms scent is Olive Tree, it’s such a unique smell. Masculine and feminine all at once.
It’s also our best seller along with cozy cashmere.

Love notes but in candle form… ♥️ 🗒️
Valentine’s Day Collection is now available online!
Lots of different scents to choose from which makes it difficult I know.
All the scent options are one of a kind never used before so if you find one you love let me know because I have a couple on a list for possible reappearance they are that good!
Meanwhile spring is in full swing in the candle studio! I have almost all candles poured and will be working on diffusers, perfume and car diffusers next. Are there any scents you just have to have return for spring? Let me know if so!

Valentine’s Collection 2026 💓💗💘
I always say I’m not going to do one, then I see all the pretty valentines stuff coming out and the colors just get me! I lovvvee all the colors for Valentine’s Day. So here we are! This has been a fun collection, pretty much every scent has never been smelled by anyone before.
These are very limited quantities and will only be available online.
My favorite is the Sea Salt + Honey almost tying with Spumoni.
Cherry Kiss is close in 3rd. 🥉

We made it through the first Custer show in Tri cities!
26 hours in three days! Thank you so much to everyone who came out to support all the makers!
We have some serious restocking to do this week/ weekend.
Thank you everyone for your patience with me as I fill orders in between and oh yes of course we are still farming! Almost done planting wheat and once that’s done then we can all “relax” 😉

Next up is The Country Club sip and shop this Thursday in Walla Walla.
Then Custers in Spokane November 21-23rd
