Chris’s Legacy
Forty years is a long time.
But then again, it goes by so fast.
I started my business back in 1982, just out of college, with nothing more
than a pick-up truck, a chain saw, and a lot of grit and determination. Realizing early on that to really make my mark in the tree business, I needed
to get the machines to work for me. I was among the first in the Walpole
area to get a stump grinder, and also the first to buy a crane which allowed
me to take down the biggest of trees. And I began to grow my tree business each year, for forty years, with quality equipment and an exceptional team of workers. And now, I, Chris Galasso, have decided that it is time for me to retire from taking down and pruning trees and sell my much-loved business.

I want to thank everyone who helped me and my tree business to succeed in Walpole and throughout the surrounding towns – for this I am forever grateful. There are far too many stories that I could tell, most of them good, but yes, some not so good. But I tried each and every day to ‘hit the mark’ – and most times I, and my team, did! I depended on my team to get the jobs done day after day. In particular, Eric (Bucky) Buckman, my crane operator and chief foreman who has worked with me over 30 years – I cannot thank him enough for his dedication, service, and friendship. Over the years I made many friends, some are repeat customers, others the many contractors that
hired me to start their jobs by removing trees for additions, new homes, or pools. I loved living and working in Walpole; however, I do not consider myself to be a true ‘townie’ because I went to Xaverian Brothers High School instead of joining the Rebels at Walpole High.
After 40 years in the tree business, I have decided to sell my company name, my business phone number and my equipment to Al Royer Jr from Dedham. I believe that Al Jr has what it takes to run a successful tree business. It is ‘in his blood’, following his father, grandfather, and uncle - three generations of successful tree specialists. Al Jr has decided to make Walpole his new home and I hope that everyone welcomes him with open arms, just as you did for me and my family nearly 65 years ago. My family has always been there for me over the years, and my brother Michael has worked side-by-side with me and my team.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the past 40 years.
God bless.

PS - If I see you at the old Country Kitchen, I will gladly share a coffee and a tall tale with you. Or some evening at the Red Wing Diner for a beeah and a pizza!
