You can use either side of the aluminum foil. It doesn’t make a difference.

Check out this rustic porcelain brick backsplash! This is one of the long awaited finishing touches to a beautiful home that was built just last year. I’m so happy I could help this client get one step closer to the finish line.

I was hunting for a bit of information and I stumbled across this photo, on a website that provides advice for contractors and DIYers alike. The man in the photo is said to be a veteran tilesetter. I can see at least 4 things that I disagree with. Is it just me? I know standards have changed over the years (this article is actually 10 years old) but still… 1) No waterproofing on the cement board, 2) No mortar & mesh tape over the board joints, 3) why the heck is he starting the fixture wall 2ft up???, and 4) thinset should be troweled vertically. Thoughts??
