Wanted to share three hot sauces I've made recently. None are for sale, as these are some really small batches.
First up is Crab Eyes: this was fermented for 7 months and is a mix of old bay, green tomatoes, chocolate scorpions, garlic, celery, and a few other things.
Next, 'The Sky is Burning' this was also fermented for 7 months and has a load of turmeric, scotch bonnet peppers, carrots, celery, and tomato.
Finally is You Enjoy Mustard, it was fermented for right around three months and has just 4 ingredients: habenero, Mustard seed, cabbage, and carrots.

The last of our garlic is out of the ground! We had about 145 bulbs between 4 varieties of garlic this year, all from . Now they are going in the garage to cure for a bit. We'll use our softneck varieties first because they won't keep as long as our hardneck varieties, which will keep for about 10 to 12 months!

The two varieties of cukes we have in the garden this year are suyo(first pic), a slicing heirloom cucumber from Northern China. As well as excelsior, a really prolific and robust pickling cucumber. Both are delicious, we'd highly recommend them for anyone looking for aome solid varieties of cukes!.

Tomatoes are about 7' tall at this point, and loaded up with unripe tomatoes. Cucumbers are really starting to pick up and the bush beans just started producing flowers (we were a little late on those.) We just love this time of the year in the garden!

We've accomplished a lot in just three years on our little plot of land, but this may be the thing I am most proud of.. A successful chicken of the woods grow. I innoculated these oak logs nearly 3 years ago, and they are finally bearing fruit. COW is one of the more difficult mushrooms to cultivate and success rates are pretty low. We only have one log producing so far, but there are a few more that look really promising!
