Snap, crackle, and pop…yet they look like cocoa puffs 🤣!

We released the last of our bees the other day, and while cleaning the cocoons, a few eager males decided it was their time to shine. They didn’t waste a second—straight into the sunshine and off to explore! ☀️🐝

Such a rewarding moment watching them begin their season.

There really is something special about this season—watching mason bees quietly going about their work is both peaceful and inspiring. They don’t make a fuss, but they’re incredible pollinators, and seeing them tucked into blossoms feels like a little glimpse of nature doing exactly what it’s meant to do.

It’s one of those simple garden joys that never gets old 🌸🐝

Thank you to everyone who came out to the farm yesterday! It was so wonderful to see familiar faces and meet so many new ones as well.

Our class was well attended, and we were able to find lots of homes for many of our dahlias and mason bees. It truly means so much to have such amazing community support.

We’re already looking forward to doing this again next year and bringing back the Fat Dog Farms Garden Market! We’re tentatively planning for the second Saturday in April—so be sure to save the date! 🌸🐝

🐝🌸 Thank you all for coming out to the Scappoose Bay Watershed Mason Bee class yesterday! We had nearly 40 attendees—what an incredible turnout!

I’m so grateful for the support from this amazing community. It was truly a joy to share my passion for mason bees and help so many of you get started on your journey to becoming mason bee keepers.
