Liberty Looks ❤️ Interior Design . Paint . Local Love . Art . Community . Sustainablity ❤️ Striving to give back to her community through her work is her focus and priority.

Wendy Linda Duarte is a self taught Decorator, Painter and Picker with a passion for historical renovations. Growing her company, Liberty Looks, into something inspirational to others helps keep her motivated. Hence why she named her company ‘Liberty Looks’, the freedom to create and save what you love. Bringing her Azorean heritage into her style, she can be described as eclectic-coastal-farm-chi

c. Wendy hopes to continue to grow and expand her business within the arts and historic niche in Rhode Island, specifically the East Bay. Bringing together historic preservation and sustainability through education is her mission. Having an education in Marketing, she is equipped and qualified to promote this passion in her community. When Wendy is not in her studio creating or saving something, you can find her all over the State gathering inspiration and networking. ‘Catch me if you can’ is her motto and don’t be surprised if you see her grabbing items off a sidewalk , standing on a pier taking pictures or hunched over a bin in the most random of places. Her hobby is salvaging and getting the ‘bureaus off the streets’. Bristol holds a special place in her heart and she can often be found at the beaches while picking sidewalks along the way.

Nike pays Erling Haaland roughly $20 million a year to promote its products. A family-run western store in Dallas just got the same treatment for free. Better than free—Haaland paid them $750 for a taxidermy raccoon hugging a whiskey bottle. 😂👏🏽

The backstory makes it even better. During Norway’s World Cup run, Haaland walked into Wild Bill’s Western Store and bought cowboy hats, exotic boots, a longhorn belt buckle, and a shirt that read, “Y’all can kiss my Dallas.” The owner said Haaland had never worn a cowboy hat before and had to be fitted for his first one.

After Norway’s Cinderella run ended, Haaland carried the raccoon home to Oslo himself, captioned it “It followed me home,” and even asked fans to name it on Instagram.

The result? The Whiskey Raccoon is sold out. The Dallas shirt is nearly gone. Their $500 Belligerent Squirrel is running low, and locals are lining up at a store they’ve walked past for decades.

Brands pay $20 million a year to rent Haaland’s image. Wild Bill’s sold it to him for $750. 🤯

Blessed to have worked in this building for over 4 years as I started my public service career. As a child, we would drive by and in my native first language, told my mother ‘I’ll live in that castle one day” and she would answer “you can’t, it’s not a castle it’s a town hall.” But trust me, I lived there 🤣

Take a visit to check out the old jail cell in the basement and the stone man built into the back by a rogue 1800’s mason. Take a walk through the cemetery by the water too, it’s worth it if you dig New England history.

Did you know we have our very own Hogwarts in Rhode Island? This gorgeous town hall boasts a rich history and Harry Potter in RI vibes.
