This one started with a failed heating pipe under the kitchen floor that had to be repaired first.

Once opened up, there were also clear issues with the original tile install — poor bond and areas already letting go.

After the pipe repair, we cleaned up the damaged areas, prepped and leveled the floor, and blended new tile back into the existing layout.

Not glamorous, but the prep work matters. Solid, clean, and ready to use again.

Kerdi waterproofing going in on this shower install 💧

Walls prepped and now fully wrapped with Schluter®-KERDI membrane — sealing the entire assembly before tile ever touches the surface. This system keeps moisture out of the structure and where it belongs: in the drain.

Solid progress on this remodel.

Came in behind my father, Tom Bolton of Design Concepts, who handled the carpentry- layout, leveled the ceilings, and framed the new walls.

We passed rough inspections early last week so we could close everything in. I completed the electrical and helped hang and tape the drywall.

Almost time for waterproofing and bathroom tile!
