We were getting ready to hire a contractor to build a deck. We called 7 contractors for quotes. The first call told us the minimum price for them to work in our area was 100,000 to build a deck. The second came out and told us the deck would be about 20,000, when we got the quote 6 weeks later with a quick sketch of the deck drawn on a napkin the price was $32, 000. The third one made an appointment and never showed up. The fourth one showed up was very nice gave us some great ideas and never even sent us a quote. The other three did not even return our call or email. It was at that moment it clicked, I knew I could be a not only build a great deck, but I could be a better businessperson.
