Got a call to come and look at some possible warranty work/water damage at a deck we built 4 years ago and upon arrival we were able to find the culprits. The homeowner changed her window treatments on her own when we built the deck and when she did they removed the screws from the wall which just happened to be screwed into a 4” sanitary drain which caused a small leak to develop and damage the Sheetrock. Additionally, when we first arrived four years ago there was water damage and bugs along the lower half of the chimney, so we replaced all of the rot and installed the new deck and screened in porch. That being said, once we closed in the lower half of the porch with screen the bugs and birds (woodpeckers going after ants) decided to go to work on the top half! The Masonite their house was built with has been discontinued because of these types of issues. It’s a soft, compressed fiber board that absorbs water like a sponge, and creates a perfect environment for rot and bugs. In light of that fact we were able to find a similar replacement in concrete fiber cement board that matches the look and texture of the rest of the house in order to replace and ensure longevity and protection from the pests/water. Now they won’t have to worry about it ever again! Whether it’s our fault or just nature eating away at your home, our team will be there ready to help whenever you need us!
