First versions of butter dishes in .geo's Poblano clay body. I like how they turned out all things considered! Hopefully one will be on its way to a friend in TX this week!

I'm taking a hand building butter dish class with in a little less than a week so I can improve my skills. But I defffffinitely think more of these (in a slightly different shape) will be coming in the future!

A moon jar in a tenmoku recently wood fired.

Look for it filled with flowers in an upcoming event this spring! I've been accepted to sell work at the TAPIstry Multicultural Music and Arts Festival happening in downtown Smithsburg May 9 from 11am to 4pm. This event is hosted by The Artists Palette Involved, and its aim is to highlight artists and performers of diverse backgrounds with the purpose of bringing people together. There will be hands-on art, live demonstrations, and cultural expression that should be fun for the whole family 🥰

I hope to see you there!

Another kiln firing is under way this weekend, and the weather is looking beautiful. Hard to believe another winter is behind us, and another wood firing season is coming to a close.

Excited, as always, to work with such an awesome crew. Equally excited to see how everything turns out!

Happy March 1! The warm weather and sunshine this weekend already has me shaking off the winter blues and looking forward to spring 🌸

Here's a jar from one of the fall/winter wood firings with and crew! One of my favorite glaze combinations that, when it delivers, DE-LIV-ERS ✨

I'm excited to announce I'll be selling a small selection of pottery at my alma mater's International Food Fest this Sunday, February 15 from 11am to 2pm!

This event was always a favorite when I was a student and then when I worked there. I was fortunate to go to a diverse high school that had students from all corners of the globe. This festival celebrates the food and culture of the students, and I'm so happy to be able to participate by bringing an arts aspect. Pottery spans multiple continents, and I plan to have some fun facts about the craft to tie it into the day.

If you're looking for something fun to do on a Sunday, come say hi and grab some amazing food! 🥰

I can't believe I forgot to post about the fun Christmas tree class I took from last weekend, right before our big snowstorm. She makes *stunning* hand built trees, and learning her method was so fun.

Now the question is . . . do I wood fire this or glaze it/fire it to cone 6? (The clay can do both!)

Thank you to Gloria for being a great teacher and for hosting the big group of us 🥰 I can't wait to make more of these!

The finished casserole!

Overall, I'm pretty happy with it. The lid does have a smile-line crack in it that came from a thicker portion, but it's still functional and I'm still pleased with it 🥰 thanks for all the love I've gotten on it through comments in-person and in my WIP post.
