Fueled by allergy meds and dirty soda, Spring has sprung online and IRL. Looking for Nicole in my end-of-life doula course and finding new uses for my label maker in the garden. What’s next on your spring cleaning list? 🤧🌸

Teaching a workshop next week for professional organizers on the many different health factors that both influence, and are influenced by, clutter in our environments and I can’t stop picturing it like this. 😬🛍️

Sometimes it’s not “just stuff.”
Sometimes it’s ADHD.
Sometimes it’s chronic pain.
Sometimes it’s housing instability.
Sometimes it’s online shopping at 11pm after a long day.

If only we could peek inside all the invisible bags people are carrying we might approach clutter with a lot more curiosity (and a lot less judgment). 💛

What else would you add to ‘s shopping bags (and my presentation)? 👀

If you’re on a GLP-1 medication, the scale isn’t the only thing shifting.

Your closet can start to feel unfamiliar, too.

I wrote for M.M.LaFleur about the in-between phase — and the concept I use with clients called Minimum Viable Volume.

This isn’t about becoming someone new.
It’s about supporting the one getting dressed today. 🤍

Winter is not the season for reinvention. We’re still in cozy mode. Energy is lower. The days are short. So instead of launching a full life overhaul, what if you just…tidied up the edges?

Use the fabric shaver. Delete the blurry photos. Unfollow the accounts that make you feel weird. Watch Heated Rivalry (twice).

These are low-lift resets. The kind that don’t require willpower, just a little attention, and most of them you can do from bed.

Because doing just a few small edits now mean you enter spring lighter, clearer, and with your energy saved for the projects that need you to actually get out of bed. 🌷

Decluttering my own career path over the last decade has led me towards new ways to work with people, while staying true to my values. And what more meaningful place to offer a talk on this topic than one of the places that helped launch my interests and grounded me with teachings on community health and sociology I still draw on today: my alma mater, .

I’m indebted to my classmate and friend Lynn Cooper for initiating this program, and for partnership with the and who supported the event. 💙🤎💙🤎

I love teachers, what about you?

I was raised by 2 of them and know first hand how much stuff can accumulate in a classroom, and how many feelings we associate with school related memories as students and as educators.

So when the National Education Association asked me for my thoughts on decluttering I was happy to participate!  The article is called “What to Keep and What to Throw Away.”

In it I shared how important it is for teachers (and all of us) to slow down and approach decluttering with compassion, not pressure. There’s no “right” amount to keep or toss. What matters is creating a space that truly supports how you live now.

Of course I also had practical ways to break the process into manageable steps, especially when emotions make it hard to move forward.

If you’ve ever felt stuck in piles of “maybe,” unsure where to start, or weighed down by sentimental clutter, this article offers reassurance and a helpful perspective.

You can read it now on the NEA website or through the links in my profile, and I’d love to hear what resonates with you.

I’m excited to share my article for NAPO titled, “When “I Have ADHD” Becomes a Starting Point, Not a Diagnosis,” available now to read online.

If you have ever felt overwhelmed by clutter, confused by ADHD content online, or unsure whether your struggles mean something more, this article offers clarity, compassion, and a helpful starting point.

In my work as a professional organizer, and in my book “Decluttered: Mindful Organizing for Health, Home and Beyond,” I emphasize that organizing is not about obtaining control. It is about being curious about the underlying issues that exacerbate clutter in our lives, and acting with compassion to address them.

Brain-based conditions such as attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and related neurodivergent profiles are increasingly part of conversations I have everyday with corporate and individual clients.

The last decade has seen two significant shifts in the discussion around these topics:
* a rise in adult diagnoses (particularly among women and gender-diverse individuals) of these conditions; and
* a surge of mental health content across social media platforms about them.

While increased awareness can be empowering, it can also blur the line between education and misinformation, so I hope my newest article for is a helpful step towards people finding real, evidenced-based support.

January 2026 is your chance to reset, not just for your calendar, but your space and routines too.

If your home feels more overwhelming than it should, it’s probably because you’ve been holding onto things that no longer serve your life now. Decluttering my style isn’t about perfection or minimalism: it’s about creating breathing room, clarity, and systems that actually support you in the year ahead.

If you’re ready for a calm, intentional reset (and don’t want to do it alone), I offer professional organizing services designed to make your space functional and sustainable, not just tidy for a week after I leave.

DM me or book through the link in my bio, and let’s start the New Year with just the right amount of stuff around. 🤍

New Year, same color scheme.

New Year, same messages: It’s ok to let that go, everyone is struggling with something, your house is not the messiest one I’ve seen, you don’t have to buy my book but it means a lot to me when you do, the more we age the more paperwork we have to manage, and if we are cleaning out your friend’s closet because she passed away, we’ll use the nice donation bags. ❤️
