Are you doing something new this year? Or is just another year? πŸ’―πŸ˜†πŸ’˜

I hope to change for the better. 1% though, let's go slow and intentional. πŸ€™ Be kind to yourself/ but not nice.

Being nice is getting ice cream daily, being kind is taking care of yourself daily and for the unknown future. You've only got one day today, let's be present, but also be kind to the futureπŸ’˜

If you're looking for a table with character, you've got the jackpot! It's wonderfully smooth to the touch.

Black oak, redeemed from Muriel "Mo" Nichols front yard. October 2018 it looked as if it was going to fall. Mo started the half shell in Roseburg and Winston Riverbend! She's a gem to the community and a real character, as was Dick Nichols (famous in these parts)

$400
Hand worked piece, hand planes. Chainsaw milled.
I made the legs through mortised blue stained pine (long leaf pine for the strength) and used oak wedges I made from the same oak tree that I drove through the fins. The legs I made to look as if they were starting to walk. Showing off the incredible strength of this joint! πŸ˜†πŸ€™ Filled holes with hand mix black epoxy and sanded flush. Oiled finish. Can add two coats of Rubio monocoat for $100
*Note the bowtie is flush with the table. I was installing it when I took pictures.

$500
This chocolate black walnut was through mortised blue stained pine, fins and wedges. I use hand planes to flatten. I mill all my own wood, and use no fasteners.

18 1/2 inches tall, 26" wide end 19.5" narrow end, with one edge nearly straight at 72" long ( perfect couch table). It has beautiful ribbon curls. Finished with oil. I could top coat with two coats of Rubio monocoat for another $100.

Working on some black walnut pieces, contact me for prices. This black walnut coffee table will sell for 500$!πŸ’₯πŸ€™

And then the idea hit me like a truck, why am I using all of this steel to render flat wood? Consider the door, I will make breadboard ends out of pieces that have split entirely πŸ”₯πŸŽΈπŸ‘ŒπŸ’―πŸ’˜ of course!! I will look into the domino (peg jointer) to make joined breadboard ends for live edge tables with live edge broken off sides, that will provide more space, and stabilize the dining tables πŸ’― I love fixing things with what could be wasteπŸ’˜ what is your passion?

Tree Story

From raw materials to finished furniture. Beams and slabs. I will give details of where the tree came from, why it had to be cut, or why it fell, and how it can live on in our homes! I don’t cut down trees to mill them, I only work with already fallen trees, mill waste trees, or trees taken down out of necessity. I grew up in the Lost Coast redwoods of northern CA, the largest uninhabited coastline in the USA, and I’ve grown an affinity for large beautiful trees. All of my work is trying to make the highest and best use of our own natural resources. I went through OSU’s green technology program and learned how to reduce waste by redeeming waste of already existing systems; here in Southern Oregon, there is a huge market for douglas fir trees and a large amount of hardwood byproduct. The equipment used to harvest and mill douglas fir cannot be used to mill hardwoods, so often large trees are just piled up and burned, or cut into firewood and sold. I’ve invested a lot of time and energy to make better use of such strong and beautiful timbers, and I hope you enjoy my craft and passion!
