May was busy and also so much fun. Two trips to Shaker Heights as we are approaching the finish line, one trip to Brooklyn for an install, and lots of other work and life in between. Swipe to the very last photo for a sneak peek at new work 🤫

We visited our Cleveland Park project this morning and are happy to report that the tile installation is giving this home so much personality. Install is in 3 weeks!

My House: A Love Letter (Part 4) - Our bedroom is simple, cozy and quiet. On any given day, this room is full of life and all the stuff that goes with it. Mostly that means it’s full of Bea’s stuff. She still gets ready, practices her dance moves, tries on clothes, reads, listens to Katseye, and generally just hangs out in our bedroom and bathroom. So the neutral backdrop in these spaces give us a quiet canvas for all the things that end up in here (none of which are shown in these photos, btw).

A few of my favorite things are in our bedroom. The pink vintage Welsh wedding blanket and the Jacob May walnut Flora bed are two of them. The painting on the wall belonged to my grandparents and it was in their house for as long as I can remember.

Bea’s room (photo 6) has a woodland creature theme on her wallpaper - a historic print from Voysey House. And the pink bed frame was a specific request and I was happy to oblige. Now we just have to persuade her to keep all of her stuff in here so it does not migrate into our room…

It didn’t exactly feel like summer in DC this weekend, but it is officially here and I can’t wait to bust out all my white denim!

Here is a lovely scene from our Shaker Heights project where we had pool furniture delivered just in time. The inside isn’t quite finished yet, but the pool is open for business! Interiors coming soon 😎

That’s a wrap, Brooklyn! We had a blast.

Installs are like putting together a 5,000 piece puzzle. There are so many moving parts and so many different humans involved. Our team worked so hard to make it all come together AND to make it look easy. They are the absolute best.

We’ll be back in July for photography and I’m already looking forward to being back 🤎

Joining platform this year has led to so many fun conversations and has allowed us to expand our services by advising clients who may not need large-scale, full service design support. If you could use help from a professional, let’s chat! You can schedule a 1:1 video consultation using the link in our bio; we just added a few more May dates and I would love to connect!

April was good to us! I ended the month on a high note at High Point, which always serves up so much inspiration. We spent much of the month in the studio moving the ball forward on our projects and connecting with friends old and new. May, we are ready for you!

We use nearly every room in our house every day - we are too limited on space not to. There are no rooms that are off limits or that get used only on holidays. Our dining room is no exception. It’s a pass-through space open to the living room and kitchen. It’s where we do puzzles, play board games, make art, eat, do homework, and gather with friends. It’s an informal space, but I still wanted it to feel elevated.

Most pieces in this room lived a life before they made their way to us. The vintage Swedish record player cabinet in the corner was modified to hide our router, and the sideboard provides additional storage (it’s mostly filled with stuff for the dog). I found the Paul McCobb table and dining chairs on eBAY years ago (before 1st Dibs, there was only eBAY). The table has 5 leaves and extends when we need it, but most of the time we keep it small and it’s the perfect size for the rhythem of our daily life. I love all of the life that we live in this space.
