In collaboration with the Detroit Zoo team, we’re reforesting the new Discovery Trails by relocating existing trees on site—giving them larger, more prominent spaces where they will continue to thrive and be enjoyed by guests for decades to come.
We like to call it tree chess ♟️—strategically relocating existing mature trees into environments that better support their long-term health, beauty, and ecological impact.
A heartfelt thank you to Matt Lapshan, Landscape Manager at the Detroit Zoo, for the trust and collaboration.
We’re excited for many more projects ahead and to continue proving that trees are living assets—that will continue to make a positive impact on our planet, people and the community as long as they are alive!
