We would like to congratulate our final winner for Home Beautiful! Our September winner is Don and Kathy Harmeling! They have lived at this residence for 50 years. Kathy told us that when her husband got a job teaching at the high school and they moved here to Waterford- she knew right away they would never leave. SO much love and attention is very obviously given to their home!

The Cook Family is our latest September Home Beautiful nominee! The Cook family has fallen in love with Waterford since moving here 7 years ago. Starting from scratch, their beautiful yard has been a family effort! Mom and the kids do the gardening while dad meticulously cares for the lawn. ( Does anyone else feel the desire to walk barefoot through this perfect carpet of grass? Wow!) They buy all of their annuals locally at Paul's Petal Pushers, and this year expanded to planting some of their own from seed. They are so proud of their wonderful results from all of their hard work- as they should be!
We love how the numerous plantings of bright flowers throughout this property makes it stand out ! Kudos to the Cook family for the dedication required to set their home apart and not succumb to "cookie cutter" landscaping that so often occurs, especially in newer developments. Truly, what an excellent property and absolutely gorgeous home!

Home Beautiful September Nomination : Don and Kathy Harmeling on Second Street- I have to tell you- SO many people have said to me," There's this house kitty corner from St Thomas Church- and it is GORGEOUS with all of their gardens!" Numerous people ended up nominating this property and we can see why! So much character and detail in the house itself- and then you add in the gardens! So much thought has been put into making this property stand out - from what everyone has been saying` they look forward to and will purposely drive by to see what the gardens look like throughout the seasons. Nomination for September Home Beautiful- Home of Rickie Glaspey on River Street was nominated by Dean and Marlene Anderson. River Street is a short little side street most people probably don't travel down much- but boy does it have some incredible homes and this one is no exception! The detail and character of this house is so warm and inviting. This property screams 'Mayberry' and the view from the back is gorgeous! The lawn and landscaping is meticulous. The owner has done an incredible job of maintaining this home on every level- congrats on your Home Beautiful nomination!

Congratulations to the Gramza Family on being our August Home Beautiful winner! The competition was pretty stiff this month, but it was their expansive gardens that put them over the top! Doing a walk through video of their grounds ended up being a 6 1/2 minute video ( that was too large for me to download apparently )- but you can drive by on old Loomis and see for yourself! Sue told us that her husband is the lawn guy and the flowers are her passion, and obviously that works to create an incredibly beautiful yard! Thousands of perennials, bushes and trees, as well as 650 bags of mulch, give you an idea of what goes into this homestead. The house itself is incredible and when all combined definitely equates a Home Beautiful award!

August Nomination- Home of Mary Berg on Main Street. I love this home as it gives me such " It's a Wonderful Life " vibes when George Bailey went to go see Mary Hatch at her house ☺️. The yard and outside of the house is done so simple, yet beautiful- the flowers are taken so well care of and her roses are gorgeous. Such a feeling of nostalgia when I drive by- and then Mary ( the owner) told me her children are the 5th generation to have grown up in this house- I love that! Add to that the cozy porch with wicker furniture to sit out on in the evenings and enjoy what's transpiring in the community- say Hi to a passing neighbor or two- THIS is why people think we're Mayberry ;)
