Currently we are removing 1,000 sqft of engineered bamboo that has been glued to concrete heavily. The scarify concrete and will be installing 15x30 porcelain tile.

This balcony was installed beach side in old orchard where the the most intense weather and salt water is upon it all year. So we used stair nosing that protects the edges from the salt and elements driving up under the tile, which was the original problem on all of these balconies, and then they all leaked in the corners into the units ruining the interior floors which were replaced as well. We use all Schluter membrane with aqua guard over the top and kerdi fix to seal the door sill. We used kerabond and keralastic the mortar freeze and thaw stable and mapei epoxy grout and the first one three years ago it is in perfect condition to the day and I have installed approximately five or more.

Today we have ditra matting mortared down over plywood that has been screwed on seams then asking each stringer to provide a sufficient substrate which 1”1/4 is needed for tile. 12”x24” porcelain tile will be installed over it.
