𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗕𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻 - 𝗖𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹!

Thrive Architects is excited to welcome Cadence Gabel back to our Waukesha office for another summer internship.

Since joining Thrive last summer, Cadence has accomplished some impressive milestones. She recently graduated from the University of Idaho with a Bachelor of Science in Architecture while completing her four-year career as a Division I student-athlete on the University of Idaho Swim & Dive Team.

Cadence also collaborated on research and design initiatives with the Seattle office of Olson Kundig, exploring how architecture can create meaningful, community-centered spaces that foster dignity, belonging, and positive social impact.

This fall, she will begin her Master of Architecture degree and was selected as one of only seven students worldwide for a highly competitive international exchange program at Tampere University in Finland, where she will study Nordic design principles and global approaches to the built environment.

Outside of architecture, Cadence enjoys film photography, thrifting, and finding inspiration through creative exploration.

We’re proud to have Cadence back on the team and excited to support the next chapter of her architectural journey. Welcome back, Cadence!

Please join us in welcoming our Summer Intern, Karter DeBraal, to Thrive Architects!

Karter is entering his fifth year at the UW Milwaukee, pursuing a Bachelor of Architecture degree. His passion for architecture started early, inspired by watching dream homes come to life on HGTV and discovering the creative minds behind those designs.

Residential design is where his passion shines. He enjoys creating spaces that bring comfort, function, and personality together, often beginning the design process with sketches that transform ideas into reality.

A few fun facts:
• Favorite color: Royal Blue (in honor of the 2016 World Series Champion Chicago Cubs)
• Hidden talent: He can juggle
• Biggest inspiration: His father, whose hard work and guidance have shaped who he is today
• Perfect day: Watching the Chicago Bears at Soldier Field on a warm September afternoon

We’re excited to have him on board and look forward to seeing his talents and creativity grow throughout the summer. Welcome to the team, Karter!

We are proud to celebrate a major milestone for Ashley Pollex on officially becoming a Licensed Architect!

Ashley’s passion for architecture, strong leadership, and dedication to her clients have made a lasting impact at Thrive Architects. As a Project Manager, she brought both creativity and drive to every project—building strong relationships, earning client trust, and guiding projects with clarity and care from concept through completion.

Ashley has played a key role in several projects including The Grand Hills Castle in New Berlin, Evin at Oconomowoc, Bars & Rec Slingshot Bar in West Allis, Waukesha State Bank, Stor-It Right in Oconomowoc, and many more.

“From a young age, I was captivated by architecture. I’d spend hours sketching my own designs. Given my proficiency with computers, architecture felt like a natural fit for my skills and interests.”

Ashley’s achievement reflects years of hard work, perseverance, and commitment to the profession. We are excited to see her continue shaping meaningful spaces and building lasting client relationships for years to come.

Choosing a senior living community for someone you love is not a small decision.

Families are trusting a team and an environment to care for a person who matters deeply to them. That comes with a lot of emotion, uncertainty, and pressure to make the right choice.

Good design can help ease some of that weight.

Not in a loud or obvious way, but through the small things people feel as they walk through the space: natural light, clear layouts, comfortable gathering areas, warm materials, and details that make the environment feel safe and welcoming.

Families may not be able to name every choice behind the design but when it is done well, they can feel it.
