Welcome to Fruit of the Bloom Garden Center! Fruit of the Bloom is a seasonal garden center locationed in Wauwatosa at 121st and North Avenue in the Fischer School Building and Breitlow Field Parking Lot. We have been in business since 1988 and were one of the first businesses in the area and the first in Wauwatosa to propose selling flowers seasonally from a temporary greenhouse. We are known for

excellent quality and service at a reasonable price. Due to our small size, we have the ability to go to our growers each day and hand-pick the best possible plants in order to keep our shelves well stocked and our customers happy. We offer a great selection of exceptional quality plants, from Ageratum to Zinnias and everything in-between. We sell unique, custom grown baskets, planters, potted material, vegetable plants, herb plants and perennials. Most of our growers do not sell to large box stores, but only to a handful of small retailers like us. We carry virtually every color Impatien and Petunia you can find. We also carry high quality bagged soil for your every planting need. Be sure to stop in and check out our large selection of beautiful Proven Winner ® potted annuals. These have been selected over the years for their hardiness in Wisconsin and for their color, versatility and ease of growing. Fruit of the Bloom has been so successful because our customers appreciate the quality of both our outstanding plants and our personal service. Our knowledgeable staff and huge plant selection keep our loyal customers coming back season after season.

Wisconsin is home to a plethora of bird species that can be viewed throughout the warmer months. However, one of the most common species can be spotted year round if conditions are favorable.

Turdus migratorius, or the American robin, is the state bird of Wisconsin. Robins nest in various locations such as in trees or on man-made structures including flower baskets, outdoor light fixtures, or eaves. Females lay 3-5 eggs in a clutch which hatch after about two weeks of incubation.

Robins are altricial which means they are born helpless and rely on their parents for care and warmth. They require near constant care before leaving the nest and the parent birds return frequently to provide invertebrates and fruit to all the hungry mouths. However, this helpless stage only lasts for a few weeks before they leave the nest.

If you find a young bird that is mostly featherless or still has down feathers, it may need assistance getting back into the nest! Learn more about how to renest the young bird and other the natural behaviors of songbirds on our website at https://dnr.wisconsin.gov/topic/WildlifeHabitat/orphan/Songbird
