ok can we talk about this for a sec 👇
it’s Sunday. I’ve got groceries to get, laundry piling up, homework spread across the counter, and I’m running through this closet a hundred times today alone.
and it hit me — this room? the one I’m in every single day, multiple times a day? it’s still got the same flimsy wire racks the builder slapped in before we even moved in. like… the room I use THE most is the one I invested in the least. make it make sense 😅
so here’s my little PSA: the rooms doing the most work in your life — closet, laundry room, pantry — deserve better than “good enough to pass inspection.” builder grade was never meant to be forever grade.
if you’re in a space every day, it should work FOR you every day. not sag, not fight you, not be an afterthought.
this week I’m finally doing something about it. starting with this closet 🙌

These custom closets went from builder grade to some of the hardest working spaces in the home.

No more standing on a step stool digging through a jumbled top shelf, or forgetting what’s already tucked in the back.

Every shelf in this custom closet design has a job, everyday pieces at eye level, off-season items up top where they belong, nothing crammed in and forgotten.

Remember the staircase Harry Potter lived under?

Well we got to work with a similar space recently...

This closet lives in an awkward, slanted-ceiling nook, the kind of space that usually just becomes wasted square footage.

💙 We love this client!

We've had the pleasure of working with an amazing client in the Edgewater community of Lancaster, SC , this is now the third (soon to be more!) space we've custom designed for her home. She recently invited us back to measure for her next project, so of course we snapped a few photos of the flex room laundry space we completed for her, a room that brilliantly does triple duty as a pantry, laundry room, and dog room!

The custom design includes a drying rod mounted above the dryer for air-drying delicates, open shelving for snacks and pantry staples, a dedicated spot for dog food storage, and a built-in countertop coffee bar with cabinet storage below — all wrapped in gorgeous blue floral wallpaper that makes the space as beautiful as it is functional.
