Recently, a customer reached out looking for a unique piece of wall art to add to her kids’ bathroom. She had seen my stickers and tea towels and loved the style - so we worked together to create a cheeky & fruity illustration.

This illustration has so many good lessons in it:
✨Create what you love - others will gravitate toward it
✨Don’t overthink it - this was a prime example of leveraging existing art to create something totally new
✨Trust in the process - everything happens for a reason and good things come to those who wait

It’s IMMERSION ENROLLMENT DAY! I get so much joy thinking about when I was in your shoes this time last year, and where I’ve come since then.

I was dreaming of a career in the design world, but wasn’t sure where to start. I decided to take Immersion course, and I can honestly say it is one of the best decisions I’ve made.

Bonnie is an amazing educator with a wealth of industry knowledge, and is a breath of fresh air that will rejuvenate and inspire you to do what you love, and never look back.

Her motto THERE’S ROOM FOR YOU has stuck with me - and I can say that it’s 1000% true.

Getting excited? We’ll you’re in luck! Bonnie’s Surface Design Immersion Course is OPEN FOR ENROLLMENT until February 22nd, and then will close for the year. I haven’t quite found anything like it - perfect for skilled designers as well as makers/hobbyists wanting to stretch their skills in a tangible way.

I have EXCITING news - I am officially a designer!

My first pattern collection - Beauty Within - is now available. I’m in love with the fabric samples I received, a few shown here. You can check out the full collection at the “Shop Fabric” link in my profile.

As a way to promote my collection, I’d love to find sewists and makers who would be willing to partner with me on making products - apparel, accessories, really anything in your wheelhouse that you think can make these patterns shine.

Dainty dashed hearts - a notebook doodle turned repeat pattern.

Made up solely of lines and heart shapes, this is a great example that ANYONE can make a beautiful pattern. You don’t have to be “the best” artist or have a background in illustration - all you need is passion, a love for learning, and the perseverance to do one small thing a day to achieve your goals.
