This Friday has started off with a bang! It's the 2026 "90 on 90" and folks are zooming along Hwy 90 with bargains on their minds. Several have stopped by The Front Yard and one person saved $65 off a purchase she had been wanting to make, with the 25% off her receipt. She waited for this weekend so she could take advantage of the savings.

We wanted you all to see the beautiful Monstera Deliciosa plants that are all growing new leaves. They make a great house or office plant and just look at the lovely Purslane Hanging Basket that another shopper picked up!

Make plans to stop by The Front Yard this weekend, they will be open from 8:30 to 5:30 each day. You just can't beat 25% off!

Out here, at The Front Yard, we are constantly learning new information and gathering knowledge related to the work we do. We just wanted to share a bit of factual information with you regarding a question we get asked a lot.

What are some plants that are deer resistant? That's a tough one. This customer specifically wanted to plant Pentas but didn't want them to be a buffet for deer, so Teresssa did a little research, and we found this interesting article regarding Pentas and how deer/squirrels found them distasteful. Yeah! So, we are sharing the information and even the source is listed towards the bottom. Pentas come in many colors, they love sun, and will bloom all summer long.

Upon further review, we found out that deer are not fond of Lavender plants, Columbine, Candy Corn Spirea, which is a good shrub, Gardenias, Coreopsis, Salvia, Dianthus, nor do they like daisies, so it says. Anyway, we were elated about the Pentas and wanted to share today's good news!

It’s the largest yard sale that we’ve ever seen because it runs straight down Hwy 90 for 90 miles, for 2 whole days! It runs from Sealy and goes all the way to Sequin, but you gotta stay on Hwy 90 all the way to catch all the yard sales.

Happy Friday, everyone! We sure do hope your day is going great and that you've got a smile on your face. If that's not the case, then come on out to The Front Yard on Hwy 90 and let the flowers soothe your weary soul. Let us show you a few of our newest arrivals.

Some Ice Plants have arrived, in both solid green and variegated varieties, and they are all flowering at this time. They are a compact plant known for its bright golden chartreuse foliage! It is drought and heat resistant as well, it likes full sun, and a moist, well-drained soil.

There is a whole flat of small Dessert Rose plants that have come in too. That is one of our popular requests and we are always happy to present them to our customers.

We have one large combo basket of mixed plants along with 2 smaller combos, as well. These are perfect and ready to be set into a larger pot for your viewing pleasure! So many come out and buy individual plants to build up a nice full pot, but these 3 pots are here, with a mix of plants, and ready to adorn a larger pot.

Last, but not least today, is to tell you that we have Hummingbird Falls Salvia in again and it is so beautiful, with its dark purple flowers and vibrant green leaves. Come out to see these beauties. The sunshine is beckoning...

Being thankful for the copious amounts of rain we did receive last night is what is on our minds this morning out here at The Front Yard. The rain gauge out in the middle of the yard showed about 1.5 inches this morning, but with the morning showers, it will register a bit more by this afternoon. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and sending some relief.

Folks have been out looking for some Mexican Heather, which has small purple flowers, but did you know there is a Mexican Heather with white flowers? Yes, there are about 6 pots of Mexican Heather with the white flowers out on the tables right now. They won't last long...

We also wanted to show you all the Purslane plants with the Double Flowers. They look like little pom-poms. With the rain, they are standing straight up, and the flowers are so colorful, especially the dual-colored ones.

We'll be back in the 90's soon enough, so once we get dried out a little, you all come on down to The Front Yard and take a look at some of the prettiest plants around!

05/23/2026

The Front Yard will be CLOSED on Monday, May 25th, to honor our fallen heroes on Memorial Day, and to allow our staff to spend some fun time with their families before the long, hot summer sets in!

We will resume our normal business hours of 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26th. We sure do hope to see you all soon. We wish everyone a safe holiday weekend. God bless America!
