🌾 Not all wheat—or rye, clover, and other food plot crops—are created equal.

Two bags may list the same species, but the genetics inside can differ in growth rate, maturity, forage production, nutritional quality, stress tolerance, and more.

For a food plot, the question isn’t just “What species am I planting?” It’s also “What was this variety selected to do?”

🌱 Buy the variety, not just the species.

🌾 Three fall grains. Three completely different jobs.

Wheat: reliable tonnage, cold-hardy. Oats: deer candy early. Rye: the toughest of the three, thrives where nothing else will grow. 🥶

We have options in all three. We have forage versions and high seed yield versions.

Labor Day is more than a day off — it is a tribute to the hands that built this country, the farmers who fed it, and the workers who never stopped showing up. We understand that kind of dedication. Since 1975, we have stood alongside hunters, cattlemen, and farmers who rise before the sun and put in the work that others rarely see.

The labor of planting a field, managing forage, and nurturing the land is not just a job — it is a calling. Every seed placed in the ground represents commitment, patience, and the belief that what you invest today will yield something greater tomorrow. That is the spirit of Labor Day, and it is the foundation on which Eagle Seed was built.

This Labor Day, we honor every hand that works the land. Whether you are managing food plots, building better forage for your livestock, or maximizing your crop yields, we are here with research-backed, field-proven seeds and the expertise to help you grow your best results yet. From high-performance soybeans to specialized wildlife blends, our products are designed for those who take their work seriously.

Hard work deserves the best tools. You have put in the effort — make sure the seeds you plant are worthy of it.

What does Labor Day mean to you, and how has the work you do on the land shaped who you are?

Cross-pollination season is just ended in the soybean breeding program here at Eagle Seed. Each midday, dedicated hours are spent making crosses in the breeding nursery — marking the beginning of a multi-year journey toward potential new variety releases. Through this process, genetic segregation is reduced by half with every generation, and it typically takes 6 to 7 generations to achieve the purity needed to determine whether an experimental line is ready to advance. Meticulous record keeping and detailed note taking are essential throughout the selection process. We've been developing new soybean varieties for over 50 years and remain one of the few independent, family-owned soybean breeding companies in the country. www.eagleseed.com

Forage soybeans are quietly transforming how cattle producers approach feed strategy — and the results speak for themselves. 🌱

Here is what makes forage soybeans a smart choice for your operation:

🐄 **Grazing** — Forage soybeans provide high-protein, palatable grazing options that cattle readily consume. Their dense canopy and rapid growth make them an excellent warm-season grazing crop.

**Silage** — When harvested at the right stage, forage soybeans produce high-quality silage with impressive protein and energy levels, giving your herd a nutritional edge through the feeding season.

**Hay** — Properly dried and baled forage soybean hay delivers a nutrient-rich feed source that can meaningfully reduce dependence on purchased protein supplements.

The versatility of forage soybeans and the herbicide options mean producers can adapt their harvest strategy to meet the demands of the season — whether that is putting cattle directly on the field, filling the silo, or building hay inventory.

Choosing the right forage variety from the start is what sets a productive season apart from a great one. Big Fellow is great for silage, Large Lad is the best for hay and GameKeeper is the best for grazing.

🌱 Bare ground gives w**ds an opportunity.

One benefit of planting cover crops is maintaining living vegetation to help protect the soil and block ugly w**ds from establishing. You don't have to have a multispecies blend for w**d suppression. Rye, wheat and oats do this well. To also increase water infiltration through the winter, Arkansas State University recommends R & R Blend before a spring legume crop. Austrian Winter Peas and ESCO Fall Blend are excellent ahead of a spring grass crop like rice or corn.

Whether you're planning a food plot or managing farmland, selecting the right cover crop is part of building healthier fields for the seasons ahead. We can blend whatever you need.

A healthy stand starts long before the first frost.

🦌 When we get rain in August and September, our forage soybeans really take off. Not all forage holds up the same under heavy deer pressure.

Some plants disappear quickly after repeated browsing, while others continue producing new growth throughout the season. The genetics are different. Up to twice as many nodes per plant. Twice as many nodes, twice as many branches, twice as many leaves. Twice as much protein per acre. Easy math..
