Exploring the lower level at our Vermont Mountain View project - an entirely separate living space designed to support how our clients most enjoy spending time together as a family.

While the main floor carries the everyday groove, this level takes on a different role. It’s where the kids can spread out, where family movie nights take place, and where hosting shifts when friends are in town. There’s space to gather, space to unwind, and plenty of reasons to stay awhile (including a shuffleboard table just out of frame!).

We approached it as more than just a “bonus” area - it needed to function as a complete extension of the home. A thoughtfully designed powder bath, a dedicated wine room, and easy access out to the screened porch and pool all support that, especially in the summer months when everything starts to flow between indoors and out.

With Summer on the horizon, we're reminded of the beautiful 3-season porch from our Cape Neddick Retreat project. ☀

This space was designed to become the place everyone just ends up. It holds a multitude of function, which was very intentional. It's where our clients host casual dinners with their family that turn into game night. Where drinks get poured as the sun drops, and where art projects take over the table for the afternoon. The daybed even offers a resting place for fun Summer "camp outs" with the grandkids - with the sound of the ocean just outside.

We designed the room to feel easy, comfortable, and hard working - to withstand the wear that comes with being right on the water. We love hearing from our clients just how loved the space has been over the past few years!

A chameleon color. Our clients and I have been having a four year long debate over the color of this grounding grasscloth wallpaper in their dining room. Is it grey or is it green? Settle the debate in the comments below 👇

As the new Spring samples begin to arrive, we find ourselves right back in one of our favorite parts of the process - scheming with materials!

There’s an energy that comes with fresh palettes, new textures, and evolving combinations. These samples bring an endless source of inspiration into the studio, prompting us to think more deeply about how each element can come together to shape a home that feels layered, personal, and distinctive.

We’re especially excited to begin weaving many of these Spring introductions into our upcoming projects, watching them take on new life as they move from sample to fully realized space.

We’re always drawn to layering - mixing pattern, texture, and color in a way that feels collected & not too composed.

In this living room, we mixed a myriad of materials - pictured here a leather coffee table, mohair lounger with leather piping, linen block printed accent swivel chair, a performance woven upholstered sofa with antique brass nailheads, and a custom flatwoven wool rug.

A study in contrast: classic silhouettes meet a touch of whimsy, just the way we like it! The plaster sconces keep things timeless, while Kristy Stafford’s wallpaper brings fun energy reminiscent of pop-art.

We’ve been busy this Spring!

Client installs, site visits for active projects, two photoshoots, an industry panel, educational events, a business retreat, cabinet maker and builder meetings, logistics planning for upcoming construction kick-offs, a visit to high point market, antiquing for clients, many ‘sit tests’ on new upholstery, a team celebration, and envisioning for new clients. We always have fun along the way.

Truly can’t wait for all summer has in store for us. No day is ever the same, which is just the way I like it!

Spring has finally sprung and we are loving all of the beautiful new blooms! 🌸

Much of this Vermont home was designed around the surreal views of the surrounding mountains. This happens to be one of our favorite views (although it's near impossible to choose!) - can you imagine how stunning it must be this time of year?!

Each element in this space, and the dining room beyond, were carefully selected to honor the local landscape & to ensure the views remained the focus.

We think about how spaces are meant to feel, not just how they look. In this primary bath, the goal was to create a setting that felt calm and grounding - a retreat enveloped in nature. Centering the tub on the windows overlooking the forest beyond was the perfect way to bring that feeling to life. We sure wouldn't mind a Sunday soak in
