Pro tip: Power lines and ladders don’t mix. When working around overhead wires we always make sure to flag them with Red Stucco tape to make them more visible. The tape is strong enough to withstand the elements and also removes cleanly at the end of the job. This is also the best way to flag long materials on a vehicle as the tape won’t fly off on the road.

A few months after repainting a full interior with SuperPaint with Air Purifying Technology we are happy to hear the client has seen a reduction in cooking/pet odors and their home feels fresh even after returning from a long trip. Pro Tip: Any time you can keep a tool handy (without holding it)it increases safety and productivity. This is why you see a lot of tradesmen wearing toolbags or pouches.

Since we can’t fit an extension pole in a pouch this is how we carry our little Sherlock 1’-2’ and 2’-4’ poles on us while painting exterior trim. We drill out the first lock hole so we can put it on the swivel pail hook we keep clipped to our back belt loop. This makes it easy to climb ladders or work on roofs more safely and efficiently.

If you use the Great Stuff Pro 14 expanding foam gun this tip is for you.

We have had these guns since they came out as they are perfect for filling smaller cracks and gaps that caulk can’t do by itself. The adjustability of these guns is what makes them so much better than the cans!

But if you are still worrying about cleaning the gun after every use I am here to tell you that we don’t waste our time or money on the cans of gun cleaner (it’s just acetone). We literally never clean them- just let the tip crust over and just scrape it off when you’re ready to use it again. It’s a sealed system- pressure from the can held behind a needle valve just like a paint sprayer. The only exception to this is if you decide to take the can off and leave it off- then you want to flush the gun so it doesn’t freeze up.

We live by the “buy once, cry once” motto when it comes to tools. For example- these we’ve been collecting over the years. Make the investment in good tools (especially if you make your living with them!!). You will thank yourself later.
