It's story time! This Job was a big one!
When we initially quoted the new patio door for Tap N Table in Weldon Spring, the plan was simple: full width. But then the customer asked if we could build a walk-through entry door inside the moving overhead door.
If you know garage doors, you know pass-doors can be highly problematic—especially in a busy restaurant with high foot traffic and a risk of someone operating the main door before the pass-door is fully secured.
Instead of forcing a flawed design, Darren suggested a smarter engineering route: relocate the walk door entirely, and frame in a structural column to securely support both the entry door and the vertical rails for the new overhead door.
According to their GM, several other companies looked at this job and walked away because it was "too difficult." We provided a prompt scope of work and a detailed proposal instead!
The owner's primary concern was business security—they couldn't leave the restaurant open to the elements overnight. We orchestrated a tight install day with our friends at Spectrum Glass. While they removed and shifted the glass entry door, we pre-built our door sections.
Day 1: The building was fully enclosed, secure, and weatherproofed by the time we packed up.
Day 2: We wrapped up the door and opener installation, finished the cosmetic trim work, and completed a deep cleanup.
The tight scheduling allowed the restaurant to smoothly take delivery of their brand-new pizza oven right on time! 🍕✨ Where others saw a headache, we saw an opportunity to deliver the Grandview Standard.
Next time you’re in Weldon Spring, grab a slice and check out this incredible indoor/outdoor transformation in person! 🍔🍻
