As a beekeeper and former Florida Apiary Inspector, I’ve spent years watching just how much our food, flowers, and ecosystems depend on these tiny workers. Bees, butterflies, moths, beetles, and even the occasional bat — they’re the quiet engine behind roughly one in every three bites of food you eat.

Here at The Farm & Nursery at Chianina Microtopia, supporting pollinators isn’t a seasonal campaign — it’s baked into how we grow. Regenerative, low-intervention, and stocked with the Florida-friendly natives and nectar-rich plants that keep our local pollinators fed and thriving.

Herb & Lather teaches the art of traditional cold process soap making — the real way, with lye water, quality oils, and herbs and essential oils grown right here at Chianina Microtopia. Participants learn the science behind saponification, how to choose and use herbs and essential oils for skincare, and how to pour their own personalized batch of 6 bars. Bars go home in their molds and are ready to be unmoulded the following day.

WE’RE COMING TO JACKSONVILLE 🚨🌿

Chianina Microtopia will be set up at PLANTMANIA at the Jacksonville Fairgrounds this Saturday and Sunday — and we’re bringing the goods.

Fruit trees. Fresh herbs. Rare finds. The stuff that makes your cart overflow and your garden jealous. 🍋🥭🌿

We were told we might be the only vendor with fruit trees and herbs at this event — so if that’s what you’re looking for, you know where to find us. Don’t miss out!

🐝 Happy World Bee Day! 🌼

May 20th is World Bee Day, and it’s one of our favorites here at Chianina Microtopia. Alongside our farm and nursery, we keep our own apiary — and we’ve got plans to grow it this year.

Bees do quiet, essential work. About a third of the food we eat depends on pollinators, and the plants we grow here wouldn’t be the same without them. So today we’re tipping our hats to the bees. 💛

A few simple ways you can help them out:
🌱 Plant native, pollinator-friendly flowers
🚫 Cut back on pesticides
💧 Leave out a shallow dish of water with stones to land on
🛒 Support local farms and nurseries
