Pricker Patch Garden

Pricker Patch Garden Just a little spot carved out of the pricker patch for organic gardening for all whom wish to join or sit under the old oak watching the corn grow.

I started Pricker Patch garden during the mid summer of 2012. As you can see from the photo's we didn't do to bad getting such a late start on the Patch.
2013 I'm being more aggressive by starting my seedlings early and planning out a long summer and bountiful harvest. I built this garden for my neighbors and residents that don't have room to grow within there bounds. All are welcome to the Patch, it's a great place to grow natural food and new friends.

The LYRID METEOR SHOWER peaks TONIGHT! (And into tomorrow morning!) ☄️☄️☄️ You'll have the best chance of seeing the shooting stars in the pre-dawn hours, but start looking tonight as the meteor shower starts to streak the sky. 🍅 FREE TOMATO PLANTS?! 🍅

If you're pruning your tomato plants and tossing the suckers—stop right there! Those little shoots are the secret to multiplying your tomato harvest without spending a dime.

Here’s the trick:
Tomato suckers are the small shoots that pop up in the “elbow” between a branch and the main stem. Most gardeners pinch them off to encourage a stronger main plant—but did you know you can replant them?

How to Get Free Tomato Plants from Suckers:

- Snip a healthy sucker that’s 4–8 inches long.
- Remove the lower leaves.
- Place it in a jar of water or stick it straight into moist soil.
- In just a few days, it’ll start growing roots like it was born for it.
- Transplant it, give it a little love, and boom—you’ve got a brand new tomato plant!

It’s the easiest way to double (or triple!) your tomato yield mid-season—and it’s totally free. When I see a good promising sucker I just stick it in the soil and water it in to see it if takes. Some survive and some do not but the ones that do! Freebie!

If you’ve already got healthy tomatoes in the garden, you’ve already got your next round of plants ready to go. Nature provides. Do you toss your suckers or use them?
