Your outdoor AC unit needs room to breathe.
In South Carolina summer heat, your AC has to work hard to move heat out of the home. But if bushes, tall grass, leaves, pine straw, or stored items are crowding the outdoor condenser, the system may have a harder time releasing that heat.
That can make your AC run longer, struggle to cool properly, and put extra strain on the system.
Quick homeowner check:
Walk outside and look around your outdoor AC unit. Is there clear space on all sides? Are plants trimmed back? Is the top of the unit open and clear?
Keep plants, debris, and stored items away from the condenser so the system has proper airflow.
If the area is clear and your AC still is not keeping up, the issue may be inside the system — airflow, coils, refrigerant, electrical components, or overall equipment performance.
