We had a lovely visitor at Laws Landing the other day: a racing pigeon! I couldn't get good enough pictures to get all of the phone number to call it's owner, but I'm guessing he flew home on his own since he isn't around anymore. I was fully ready to make this guy our pet, though 🤣
I have since learned a lot about the world of pigeon racing. I had no idea it existed.

How often do you clean the inside of your fridge? I try to clean mine a couple times a year or when needed. It's easier to do when it's more on the empty side, in this case, when we came back from vacation- before we restocked.
I take the drawers and the door shelves out and wash them in warm soapy water. The main shelves get wiped down with a damp towel unless they are sticky or extra dirty, then I take those out and wash with soapy water, too. Walls, seals, and doors get wiped with a damp towel or Clorox wipe.

Had a few Cherokee Purples ripen up with the cooler weather we had the last week or so. Back to 90s now for a bit, so I suspect they won't produce many more. The cherry tomatoes, however, have produced non-stop because those things are indestructible like weeds.

I just used the first recipe that popped up on my Google search. It worked great in my belgian waffle maker. They were totally kid approved, too.

PSA: The Pico backpacks are the PERFECT size for toddlers. We got these for the twins for hiking (but more likely just sightseein because of my ankle) on our upcoming trip, but they haven't taken them off since they found them, haha.

The packs are 5L, so just right for holding a water bottle, snacks, a toy, and any rocks and sticks they find along the way. I originally wanted 8L packs for them, but I'm glad I got the smaller ones because then they won't be too heavy or bulky for hiking. Seriously, so glad I came across these, and while I usually try to buy from local retailer or second-hand, I couldn't pass these up for cheap in Amazon.

Today's bloom report: allium, Stella D'oro lilies, hostas getting huge and one variety had buds, astilbe, wild daisy fleabane, stargazer lilies. I love putzing in my yard, even on crutches 🤣
