Why are home inspections so important?
Home inspections reveal problems that aren't obvious during casual walk-throughs. While you're admiring new appliances and fresh paint, serious issues like faulty electrical systems, plumbing leaks, structural damage, and heating and cooling problems hide behind walls and under floors. Professional inspectors know where to look and what warning signs indicate bigger problems developing.
The financial protection alone justifies the inspection cost. Discovering a failing roof, foundation issues, or outdated electrical systems before closing gives you powerful negotiating tools. You can request repairs, negotiate price reductions, or walk away from a bad deal before you're committed. This knowledge often saves buyers far more than the inspection costs.
Even new builds need inspections. With so many “hands in the cookie jar” GC’s don’t have the bandwidth to monitor every system, door and window. We’re a trained set of eyes that compliment the builder to ensure your shiny new purchase doesn’t have problems 5 or 10 years down the road.
