Todd & Chelsy decided to replace their old 2"x6" garden boxes with and upgrade, so they gave us a call. They went with our 4'x4'x12" Monarch's and with going from 6" high to 12" high, they are going to see a serious improvement in their garden. Can't wait to see what it looks like when it comes on! Sunflower alley got off to a slow start this year but has bounced back nicely! Also, remember as a raised bed gardener, one of your goals is to plant densely enough so that you end up with a natural canopy to protect your soil from the sun. You can do this with companion planting or just planting one variety per bed. This will help retain water and remove the need for mulch. Happy Gardening!

Gina M. gave us a call and said she needed one more planter to go with the many she bought a few years ago. She said it took awhile to get all the vinyl planter boxes installed, but once she did, it's worked out wonderful. The one comment that stood out was that her mom is elderly and that the raised beds provide easy access for gardening. Second comment was that the garden is so prodigious, that they are going to set up a stand and make fresh vegetables available to the neighborhood. This is why I "love" this business, fresh vegetables to take over the world! Happy gardening!!

Beds are all replenished and most of the cold crops we like are planted. Hope everyone is on schedule in getting ready for spring. My helper and I planted: Peas, Rainbow Chard, Chard, Rainbow Carrots, Carrots, Blue curl Kale, Red Russian Kale, Edamame, Parsley, re-patched the strawberry patch and of course got Sunflower ally planted. It was fun to visit with Carolina O. this last week. They needed a couple of more planters, and it gave us a chance take a look at their garden area. Beautiful job on leveling out the planters and the trellis work is awesome with the cattle panels. Have a great season!
