Good evening flower friends! It’s hard to believe but we are coming in to our 4th Summer season in 2026. Time flies when you’re having fun as the saying goes!

And with that, an update. This year, our original “Half Acre Hill” as I’ve always called it, will be taking a break, as we are letting it go “fallow” this season. Much has been asked of this hillside the past 3 years and I’ve pushed it to produce countless blooms that many of you have walked through and made memories in over the years, but the soil needs a much needed rest!

Who knows, perhaps seeds from last year’s crop will dot this hill in a wild and welcome way, time will tell!

As for this summer, details for Flower Season 2026 are being finalized, with updated U-pick dates, times, days, and even a SEASON PASS option, yes I said season pass, in the works! Stay tuned!

A Tulip tutorial, from harvest to flower!

Key points not mentioned:

1) Tulips LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE water. You’ll notice in the video our vase of tulips is full of water, with bulbs fully submerged. Now, do you want tulip bulbs sitting in puddles of water for weeks, NO, absolutely not, but for the purposes of a vase once ready to flower, they will survive for the flower life and drink LOTS of water!

2) If a flower or two breaks from your bulb, no worries, enjoy your flower as you would any other cut flower, as for the bulb, if planted out later, it will generally take several years to produce a new flower! The vegetation as mentioned in the video is key to feed the bulb for next year’s flower!

Happy Sunday everyone! More Tulips to harvest today! If you’ve ever harvested Tulips before, you ultimately love to pull them with bulb left on with a pinch of color just before they crack open, in order to enjoy the full bloom progression of your bloom! Believe it or not, I actually thought of camping out next to the patch last night lol, because once they get enough sun and heat, they can go from the current stage pictured, to fully open by the end of the day!
