Here is another job: guy had a cracked heat exchanger so upgraded his furnace and kept the existing AC. Also found a really loose gas line going back to the main that I took apart and tightened

This morning Station 293 responded to a residential structure fire. We will have an official post tomorrow regarding the incident, but wanted to offer our services as a collection location.

We will have a collection drop off location setup for the family this Tuesday and Thursday starting at 6pm until 8pm. We will be happy to assist with the collection of items and work to have them delivered to Carolyn for the family.

Please see the attached image for items needed. We will also be taking donations to purchase gift cards as well for the family.

Steve Buscemi did something amazing. On September 11, 2001, he showed up at his old firehouse in Manhattan, New York and was ready to help. Long before he became a movie star, Steve had served with Engine 55 in Manhattan, New York in the early 1980s. When the towers fell, he quietly returned to his old firehouse and joined the effort to search through the wreckage.

For several days, Steve worked twelve-hour shifts alongside firefighters. He didn't want credit or cameras. He refused interviews, avoided photos and stayed in the background. All he cared about was helping other people in need. Even as smoke and debris filled the air around him, Steve dug through dust and rubble.

But his kindness didn't end there. Steve helped raise money and gave his time to support firefighters. He works with a nonprofit called "Friends of Firefighters." They provide free counseling, therapy and support to firefighters and their families going through hard times. Steve Buscemi didn’t come back to be a hero. He came back because those were his people and they needed his help.
