She knew there would always be those days when she felt like she could do no wrong and life was beautiful..
And then in the blink of an eye, the very next day, she couldn’t breathe, anything that could go wrong did and she had to fight just to keep going.
It took her a long time to understand that all of those days were part of her journey.
She’d cry in the shower or lie awake in bed at night wondering why things had to be so hard.
Why did it feel like such a struggle sometimes?
She asked all of the questions and didn’t know any of the answers..
And she was down and out more than she felt unstoppable.
It wasn’t until she started to think about the bigger picture that her perspective began to shift.
She still felt terrible on the hard days, wanting to just lie in bed and stay there all day..
But she didn’t.
She got up, pulled herself together and fought.
She did that because, well, she didn’t know what else to do.
She wasn’t a quitter and she wanted more for her life than bad days, broken hearts and hurt feelings.
So she started trying to learn from the bad stuff and celebrate the moments of victory along the way.
It didn’t make anything easier or hurt less, but it did help her get through the hard stuff.
She’d just take a deep breath when the world came crashing down and remind herself that she could do this.
She always had.
She always would.
And sooner or later, she’d look back and realize why she had to go through it all to get where she wanted to be..
And that day, in that moment..
She’d be glad she never gave up on fighting for her dreams.
