We are gardeners who have a deep-rooted passion for using our homestead to grow a variety of sunflowers and seasonal vegetables to share with the local community. In addition to the bouquets, we also sold single-stem sunflowers at our self-serve roadside stand located at 5112 Seneca Street, West Seneca, NY. Everything we grow on our land is all natural and pesticide-free. We take great pride in be

ing able to utilize our land to the fullest extent with excellent growing and harvesting practices and therefore, without the need for harsh chemicals. The birth of the Sunflowers of Seneca Street. We were confident that we could grow a couple sunflowers! We decided to test the waters and plant more than just a few sunflowers. We planted a 5,000 square foot area. As fast as the seedlings emerged, they were quickly demolished by our local deer gang, in what felt like an overnight raid. Try as we might, the deer won that turf war. But, we were determined to grow sunflowers! So, up went the electric fence and we planted a late second planting of sunflowers. The good news is that we prevailed against the local deer gang! We are proud to say that we harvested sunflowers thru early November! The excitement and feedback that we would receive from the community kept us going. In addition to our sunflowers, we have several flower gardens on our property that we grew supplemental flowers such as zinnias, cosmos, dahlias, bachelor buttons, snap dragons, celosia and other wild flowers. Those flowers were used to make the beautiful and bright sunflower bouquets that we sold at our roadside stand throughout the summer. We are overwhelmed and humbled by the support from the community. It has been an absolute pleasure meeting some of you at the roadside stand this season. We appreciate all of the warm comments, positive feedback, and notes of appreciation that we have received. Because of the excitement and growing popularity, we decided to create a FB page specifically for the Sunflowers of Seneca Street.
