Some finished (or nearly so) work.
This project is about 800 sq ft master suite, 200 sf of remodeled space, and a new 2 car garage. added onto an existing home from 1931 on a small lot in West U (Houston). It is a very private space abutting a major cross street, but we did get a fantastic clear story with mostly northern light washing across a clay veneer wall.

Albuquerque project under construction: The courtyard is going to be the Hallmark of this project. Ironic how sometimes its the "left-over" space in a project that creates the Architecture. Of course they are getting a great bedroom and garage addition as well.

Under construction in Houston, this project has had a number of really tricky hurdles thrown at it - zoning, power utility restrictions, neighbors, funky old construction details, complex demolition, ancient (1931) site issues, and new architectural details. What turns out to be the simplest aspect of the entire project changes the steer appeal the most - re-siding the mildewy second level. We were going to use a 'thin-brick' tile, but settled on a hardie-shingle instead. It will be painted soon but already makes an enormous difference.
