Let’s be honest: interior design isn’t a very sustainable industry.
Fast furniture made to be replaced in a few years. Packing materials headed straight for the landfill. Demo debris from remodels filling dumpsters. Rooms torn out simply because they’ve gone out of style.
We’re part of that industry and we take that seriously. So we try to do things differently wherever we can:
- We design for longevity
- We repurpose clients’ existing pieces with a new finishes, fabrics or hardware
- We source vintage and antique pieces that bring character and keep quality furniture in use
- We work with local workrooms/makers and choose American-made products when possible
- We select durable, well-made furnishings and avoid fast furniture
- We look for green materials like sustainably harvested wood, natural foam, and eco-friendly fabrics
- We recycle all of our samples through either Material Bank or by donating them to our local community
- Since 2023, we’ve also been a member of , which means we give 1% of our annual sales to environmental causes that are important to us. It doesn’t erase our footprint, but it’s one way we hold ourselves accountable for it. We keep that giving close to home, supporting organizations like Farm Fresh RI, The Watch Hill Conservancy, and The Westerly Land Trust.
Good design should last and so should our planet.
