The Johnson Woolen Mills Buck - he was tired and in rough shape, in need of a little TLC and a fresh cape. I always find old taxidermy fascinating, especially breaking them down to see how they were put together way back when. Hard to say exactly how old he was, but based off the newspaper that was packed in his eye sockets the year 1914 was printed on every piece. Safe to assume he’s a century old, leaves me wondering of all the things he has seen over the years being hung up on a wall.

Thank you to everyone over at Johnson Woolen Mills for allowing me to re mount this buck and add some creative flare to him - I’m thrilled to be sending him back for many to enjoy for hopefully another 100 years!

With some extra elbow grease we brought this guy back to his glory after hanging outside in the elements for some time. Sealed with a satin clear coat and his sun bleached antlers re colored - ready to be enjoyed for many years to come.

That first deer is always the most important in a hunters journey. What ever age that may be, the first is what sets the stage and inspires you dive deeper each season. It’s the one that will forever leave a mark on your life and fuels the fire inside. With that being said it’s the most important to honor and preserve.

This spike buck I hope will bring joy in this youth hunters life for many years to come - mounted up on a hand cut plaque from locally milled lumber, with an English chestnut stain and poly clear coat.

Many thanks Adam for trusting me with your daughters buck and the continued support is greatly appreciated!

Love seeing a DHT skull out in the wild - especially at one of my favorite spots up in the kingdom!
