This plant ID guide includes many of the wildflowers and grasses found in the Russell Kirt Prairie. It’s a PDF resource of native plants organized by color/type commonly found in the Russell Kirt Prairie. Additionally, it includes typical growth, light requirements, wetness indicator, habitat types, and C-Value. It's helpful for a quick guide on many plants in our region, so feel free to utilize it as a resource. It also has lots of room to leave your own written in notes.

We love using ‘Elephant’s ears’ in our gardens😊

'Heart of the Jungle' Elephant's Ear enjoyed being a part of the trial gardens at the University of TN a few years ago! Sun, water, and warmer temps are all this beautiful foliage variety needs...oh, and space too. 😃 Just one plant can grow 3-5 feet tall, and 3-5 feet wide! So if you have a large opening to fill, you've just found your solution since this plant is spread by runners.

In Spring 2009 we created the "Outside Checkout" a structure attached to our White Shop. This is a checkout by day and serves as the outside bar at night for weddings. We think it fits seamlessly with the building with its reclaimed barnwood and a concrete countertop. Our Retail staff loves the shade it provides during the Spring and Summer. We eagerly await decorating this space with seasonal plants and product this Spring!
