Things to think about for spring clean up.Check trees and shrubs for broken branches then prune for new growth. Remove leaves,sticks and debris left from winter.If you have dead patches of grass usually a light raking will give room for new growth.Apply fertilizer with crabgrass pre emergent.Apply pre emergent to landscape beds to control w**ds.

Time to start thinking of the first fertilizing of the season. A good product is Scotts Super turf Builder Plus Halts Crabicide. This should be applied April 1 to April 25 to prevent crabgrass from germinating.Water this in thoroughly to activate fertilizer.This product also prevents foxtail,oxalis,and spurge all season long.

Automatic irrigation systems, if installed properly can save u money & help in water conservation.Dead grass & plants may need to be replaced, that can be expensive.But the savings from a system can go beyond that.Watering with a hose or oscillator wastes water.Neither method targets plant roots with precision.The systems are designed to release precise amts of water in targeted areas, promoting water conservation.

1st question to ask when chosing a contractor.what types of ins. do you carry?Contractors should have personal liability,workers comp,and property damage.Ask for copies of current ins. certificates.Have ins. agent issue certificate directly to you.Avoid contractors who don't carry all the appropiate ins.Otherwise you will be held liable for any injuries or damages that occur during the project.
