While we have been getting some beneficial rains, we are still way behind. Keep adequate water on your newly planted items!

Despite some rainstorms Florida has received recently, some areas of Florida are still in extreme or severe drought. Make sure to assess your plants for signs of drought stress. UF/IFAS has some useful resources for caring for a drought-stricken landscape or creating a more drought-resistant garden.

Pineapple Guava’s are back in stock!

Acca Sellowiana … Apollo
These trees feature dark, glossy green foliage with a whitish-silver cast underneath and striking crimson red flowers in the center and pink petals which are also edible. Some say the flowers taste like cotton candy. Following the flowers are dark green Apricot size or larger fruit which is described as a mix of guava, pineapple and banana. These trees thrive in growing zones 7-10 and are hardy to 5 degrees Fahrenheit. They like half to full day sun and are quite drought and salt tolerant making them acceptable for coastal locations. These trees grow 8-12’, flower in July with fruits ripening on November. Apollo is not bothered by pests or disease and will produce fruit 2-3 years after planting and yield 5-10 lbs.
Come by the Nursery and check them out!
